Summary About Me

Me TUGIRUMUREMYI Raphael is a qualified professional Lawyer/Attorney and Tax adviser/ co-founder and Managing Partner of ALPHA LAW FIRM LTD. He is competent in pleading, training, drafting legal advices and consultancy services in legal matters, particularly business law.

He served as a Commissioner of Customs in Rwanda Revenue Authority for 4 years. He, as a Commissioner, gained experience in international trade and participated actively in international negotiations related to trade and economic integration. He also participated in international forum discussing trade issues.

As a qualified Lawyer and member of Rwanda Bar Association since 2010 he has a vast experience in legal matters as he served as a Technical advisor on Tax Laws (Customs Laws, international trade law and transportation of goods and Internal Taxes). He is also a Technical advisor in business law (company law, intellectual property law and consumer protection.

He is a holder of an LLM-BUSINESS LAW from the University of Rwanda, Faculty of Law since 2013 and in 2015 he completed course on legal practise from ILPD. In 2011 he was awarded a Certificate of completion of 2011 Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship Program in Legislative Drafting from the University of Sydney, Australia.

Since 2006 he is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law of the University of Rwanda with a distinction mention.

He conducted the following researches :

• 2018 Research on self-regulation of clearing and freight forwarders associations
• 2018 Consultancy service on the recruitment of staff of IFACO &VRISCO NL LTD
• 2018 consultancy services on drafting law on self-regulation of clearing and freight forwarders associations
• 2014 research on introduction of electronic cargo tracking system in Rwanda
• 2013 participated in the research on family law
